Founder and Engineer
In 2015 I was in a bad car accident and since then I have become a more anxious driver. I noticed myself scanning the rear-view mirror whenever coming to an abrupt stop. I often flash the car’s hazard lights to warn distracted drivers and that’s when I thought, ‘I could automate the flashing’ so I can keep two hands on the wheel. That’s how the project started!
My background is in medical devices and I have helped design spinal robotics and spinal implants. I enjoy tinkering and building things during my free time – friends say I ‘daydream’ but I’m constantly trying to find and solve problems!
I am from Cape Town, South Africa and have worked in the automotive industry for 10 years. I worked for several automotive companies in Japan for 5 years – so I am now fluent in Japanese! My expertise is in embedded electronics, more specifically vehicle ECUs (Electronic Control Units – that’s the computer that runs your car) and software/firmware development.
